Just the other day my wife put in a load of laundry.  She came back later that day expecting to put the laundry into the dryer.  Instead the washer never finished and it was still full of water.  Thinking it was just a fluke, she started it again then forgot about it.  About a week later it happened again.  She found if she put something heavy on the lid, it will finish, otherwise it will stop.

Now we are trying to decide between buying a new washer or fixing the one we have.  Money is tight, but the washer is 15 years old.  How long should a washer last?  I guess 15 years of daily use is pretty good.  We have been looking for a good Appliance sales.  We can't wait, we need a new washer now.

We went to one of the home improvement big box type stores to find a new one.  They have about every model available.  Because there are so many, which do I choose?  I can tell you the workers no nothing about them.
