Disaster Recovery

It all started one summer day while I was ready to go on vacation.  I checked all the lights, electronics, faucets and appliances to make sure we were ready to go on our week trip to Bush Gardens in Virginia. 

We had a great time.  We saw my wives brother and rode rides at the amusement park and visited colonial Williamsburg.  The real surprise happened while we were away back at our house.  Disaster recovery here we come.  The pipe connecting the washing machine broke loose spraying water everywhere for 7 days.  You can image the damage it did to the upstairs, but even more damage was in the basement where the water filled up a foot of water.  Everything was ruined, the TV, xbox carpet and sheetrock.

Luckily there are disaster recovery companies that can come in and clean up the mess.  We moved out for a few weeks and came back to our house back in the same condition when we left.  Our insurance company covered everything including the stuff that was ruined by the water.

It was heart breaking to see our house in the condition we found it in.  What a relief to have it restored to like new condition.
