Have you ever wondered about the military history of the united states? How about the American civil war? Rene Tyree has a blog site dedicated to her research of Military History. She is currently a Graduate Student.

She does review history books she has reads and adds very informative blog posts. One of her last posts talks about the first Admiral in the US Navy during the civil war. He was captain of a gun ship. Of coarse gun ships back then are a lot different that they are now.

She wrote a paper on civil War Admiral David Farragut and the Battle of Mobile Bay. This guy comes from a long history of Military men. He went up against the rebel ram ship the Tennessee. It was a long battle in which they stopped in the middle to allow both sides to remove the wounded before they continue the battle.

She also reviews many books on History books, like the National Museum of Americans in Wartime, Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Hunter? and The American Way of War.
